Toulouse - Culture

La Halle de La Machine has been imagined as a stable for the company's creations. These machines, from the smallest that can be held in the hand to the largest that can weigh several tons, have taken up residence in La Halle de La Machine, waiting to be used in shows all over the world. On the spot, under the eyes of the public, a team of trainers/handlers: "the real machinists" bring them to life, telling the tales and legends of these extraordinary mechanical mounts, in constantly renewed scenographies.

A space of life and encounters, the Halle de La Machine is thought as an invitation to travel to the meeting of these unusual objects. This place also wants to be a space of creation in which will be born, with the meeting of artists, new artistic forms. It is also an opportunity for the company La Machine to experiment under the eyes of the public with new stagings for future shows.

A cultural program, a bar-restaurant, a store and meeting spaces are all possible entrances to come and discover the Halle de La Machine and its occupants fashioned from wood and steel.

The entrance fee is 9 euros 50.

L'escabel:

In Occitan, an Escabel is a three-legged stool. Synonymous with support and stability, the stool is also an indispensable element in the furniture and life of a café. Located at 36 rue Gatien Arnoult, L'Escabel's team takes over from the former café-theater "chez ta mère". Configuration of the café adapted to satisfy the greatest number of people, reasonable prices, workshops and various collaborations with the inhabitants of the district and its numerous associations and shopkeepers...

Free acoustic concerts, manual workshops for children... with a selection of wines and beers, and for snacks: pancakes, cakes, cotton candy...

Through this project of an associative café, open all day, the goal is to maintain the social link in the neighborhood by encouraging social, cultural and intergenerational diversity. The creators wish to make L'Escabel a place where conviviality and simplicity reign.

The objectives of the association are clear: to encourage meetings between people who rarely mix and to provide answers to the problems of the neighborhood such as the isolation of seniors, the lack of a warm place to welcome high school students or families. The volunteers of the café wish to participate in the maintenance of the popular and commercial identity of the district, also marked by the Occitan culture and the unconditional welcome of the most fragile people.

Here is the program of the week:

Tuesday 15/02 Bar d'Alem Mar, 7pm

Wednesday 16/02 Philo workshop, theme: friendship, the languages of love 2-4pm

Thursday 17/02 20h30 Improvisation theater workshop

Friday 18/02 Algerian folk concert

Ma Biche Sur Le Toit is the story and the dream of a group of friends. When they tell it, they remember the meal between friends where the dream and the greatness of this project began. And yes, the ambition to open a new convivial place on the roof of the Galeries Lafayette, with a breathtaking view on the Pink City, was born.

Ma Biche Sur Le Toit is the new flagship establishment of the ALLFORYOU group, in association with Chef Michel Sarran. In this place, a new culinary concept different from what is traditionally done, is proposed to you. You will discover offers adapted to each moment of the day. You will have the possibility to have breakfast, to have a lunch break before going back to work, to enjoy a tea while tasting a pastry between two purchases or to have an aperitif after a day of work. In the evening, you can enjoy gourmet appetizers to share with your guests over a good bottle of wine, but also discover our Signature cocktails.

So much energy and so much charm! Ma Biche is the ideal rooftop, the combination of naturalness, generosity and smile, three minutes from the Capitole and Place Wilson. The important thing is in the moment, in this tonic and smiling service, in the room fitted out like a chic club, and with a soundtrack totally adapted for the most fun evenings in Toulouse.

The prices are very varied, you will find many things at reasonable prices but also a little more expensive formulas

The Cité de l'espace is a scientific theme park dedicated to the conquest of space and astronomy. Real spacecraft, an incredible journey into the cosmos, extraterrestrial treasures and modules for astronaut training... An experience that takes us to the very edge of the universe! An experience that takes us to the edge of the universe!

It offers several exhibition areas and gardens where you can approach real spaceships (test models or life-size reproductions) that have contributed to the history of the conquest of space: a copy of a Soyuz capsule, the MIR station or Ariane 5... A unique opportunity to sit at the controls and experience the confinement and smallness of life in orbit.

You don't have to be a telescope enthusiast or a meteorite collector to enjoy a visit to the Cité de l'espace. Experiments, animations and guidance are provided so that the curious and the dreamers can simply understand the sky and the celestial objects that gravitate above our heads.

The Cité de l'espace also offers projections on the monumental screens of the Planetarium and the IMAX. You can, for example, take a 3D and 360° trip to the colorful places where the stars are born and die or watch a film about NASA's major projects.

The entrance fee for the day is 16 euros for students.

Les Abattoirs is an exhibition space for modern and contemporary art in the city of Toulouse. It has been awarded the "Musée de France" label.

Located on the left bank of the Garonne River, Les Abattoirs offer a wide range of activities. Within the framework of cultural public service missions, they fulfill multiple functions related to the dissemination and understanding of modern and contemporary forms of artistic expression.

Focusing on artists active since the 1950s, it illustrates many artistic trends or tendencies born of the Second World War such as lyrical or gestural abstraction, art brut, informal art or Cobra. This part of the collection has been considerably enriched by the donation of works by the collector Anthony Denney (1913-1990) and by the deposit by the Centre Georges-Pompidou of part of the donation by the gallery owner Daniel Cordier.

Moreover, support for creation is one of the major requirements of the Abattoirs. It is expressed through the reception of artists on the occasion of exhibitions, the opening of local or regional workshops and public commissions. It is enriched by the participation of artists in the debate and the policy of animation and provides them with useful documentary resources or those that are preliminary to their creation.

The Abattoirs also offer spaces for relaxation and conviviality, notably a bookshop specializing in modern and contemporary art, an auditorium and a café restaurant.

Here are the rates to access the building:

Free on the 1st Sunday of each month
